Is the woman's role only in the kitchen, or are they just a showpiecie which people are meant to see and admire? or are they supposed to be seen and not to be heard?: these questions have been answered by most women in the affirmative which brings to mind the fact that many women do not know the reason for their creation.
Is a woman supposed to attain or even to aspire for a leadership role? For all these questiions and
numerous others like it to be answered, we need to go into the word of God to find out what the mind of God is concerning these issues. According to Judges 4:4
'Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, was judging Isreal at the time'
Judges, at these period in Bible history represents someone like a ruler and a deliverer of the people, Deborah was a married woman who played a leadership role in the nation of Isreal. She was a woman who was both seen and heard.
YOUR ROLE AS A WOMAN:
As a woman you have desires and aspirations, you have a gift or talent that you have, but have not developed or put to use. The realisation of these dreams, and aspirations, the attainment of your purpose in life brings fufillment; on the other hand, the non-attainment of your purpose in life, the failure to realise your dreams and aspirations makes you a miserable and depressed woman.
The question now is how do you realise your dreams and achieve your purpose in life? The undisputed answer is to STAY CONNECTED to God Almighty, in Genesis 17:1 the wod of God says:
'Iam Almighty God; walk before me and be blameless and i will make my covenant between Me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly...I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you...'
And God went on and on telling Abraham the benefits of staying connected to Him, and it goes without saying that this is what God expects from us as women to be connected to Him so as to locate and actualise God's purpose for our lives.
Deborah was connected to God and as a prophetess she located the the purpose of God concerning Her life. When you locate God's purpose concerning your life, your life will make an impact in other people's lives, what you do will invariably affect other people positively; so, how much commitment you have towards God in whatever you do will determine how far you go with your dreams.
AS A WIFE:
At creation, it was only the woman that was pre-ordained by God for a special assignment: Genesis 2:18
'It is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him a helper comparable to him.'
From the beginning the woman was created to be a companion and a helper to the man, and it is our duty as wives to fufill our purpose in this area. The husband of a woman walking according to the will of God as a wife will be well noted in the society where he belongs: According to Proverbs 31:23
'Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.'
The word of God says that: he who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtaineth favour of the Lord; this is interpreted to mean that because of you, woman! your husband is favoured of God
A woman who has the fear of God will fufill God's purpose as a wife which is enumerated in the whole of Proverbs 31.
'But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised'
Proverbs 31:30
AS A MOTHER:
Proverbs 22:6 says:
'Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it'
Adults are the way they are now as a result of the training whether positive or negative recieved by them as children. And the best person to train a child is the mother; do not leave the training of your child to teachers at school alone or to caregivers, you as a mother have a significant role to play in the life of your child. What he/she turns out to be will first be credited or attributed to you before any other person. And remember you are accountable to God for the life of that child of yours, so, make out time out of your tight schedule to impart God's word in them.
In conclusion, if you succed as a woman and you fail as a wife and/or mother it is considered that you have failed, same goes for when you succeed as a wife and/or mother and youfail to achieve your purpose or calling or you fail to utilise God's gift in your life, you will not be considered to have succeeded because God will require of you how you made use of His calling upon your life: Mathew 25:14-30.
You should be able to strike a balance between all the triapatite roles. For our example of a well balanced woman read the whole of Proverbs 31.
